Last week we read about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. My cooperating teacher demonstrated that although we may look different on the outside, we are all the same on the inside by using a white egg and a brown egg. Though the eggs were different colors on the outside, we could not tell them apart once we broke them open and saw them from the inside.
Together, we learned how to draw a picture of Dr. King. With some amazingly cute crayon drawings of such an important figure in history, I was inspired to have the kiddos take it one step further and write down what their own "I have a dream" speech might be like. Below is a picture of our display and several of my favorite "I have a dream" sentences.
Take a close look at the one with the purple background. Mrs. Johnson (My cooperating teacher) and I LOVED that one! ;) What a sweetheart!
